Horse of the Year - HOTY Rules
With over 25 clubs now in Australia, many still establishing membership and competitions, this new and exciting National HOTY will enable more riders from more clubs to be part of the programme.
How it works
All clubs to run their own club HOTY programme whichever works best for them, e.g.
• Allocate 3 comps a year where they can win points
• Have every comp as an opportunity to score points
• Award bonus points for members who travel to different clubs
• Award bonus points for placing at an away club
E.g. placed in the top 5 at another club also collect points • e.g. 1st 5 points; 2nd 4 points
These are only ideas to consider, each club will decide how to award and monitor their members points.
Ask for more ideas with your Club Support Team Leader, they will share with you any ideas they hear from different clubs.
Running a club HOTY is well worth doing as it encourages all your members to attend ALL your club competition days.
Clubs will present their HOTY winners at all levels including age groups from Preliminary and up at the time of entry to the National Championships.
Clubs are encouraged, wherever possible, to send a minimum team of 4 riders to the championships.
The classes will be offered as normal however, the HOTY winners from each club will also be marked within the class which ultimately will be the National HOTY winner within that level.
